It's been another great week. I don't even want to talk about the weather anymore, so we wont go there. Kids are doing great and so are us zoo keepers. Brent treated himself to a riding lawn mower. Andrew loves to sit on it as long as the motor is not on. He's just started to get brave enough to help Brent "mow" the lawn. And it looks like he's doing all the work! Brent will take him for rides down the street and even to the mail box. Surprisingly enough there has yet to be an official block tractor race...Which I can see happening in the near future. I think the tractor has more horse power than my Honda. Anyways it cuts down the yard mowing time from about 4hrs to 1hr, so I'm not complaining. Brianna gets to supervise from her shaded stroller so she's not complaining either! And they know she's in charge. She just needs a drink with an umbrella and she's ready. Andrew and Brianna had there first combined drs. apt which was fun. They are both doing everything that they should be at their age...No concerns from the doctor. They each got a couple of shots, and Andrew didn't even cry, first time, he took it like a big boy. Brianna on the other hand gave me the look that kills and cried for a while, but she did get 4 shots....OUCH!!
Brianna is also crawling like a pro, the proper way. She dropped the butt and is moving on all fours. She still likes the view from upside down. She gets that way, looks at me and just laughs, she must think I'm upside down not her. Very cute! She also got her first tooth. I noticed it yesterday!! It's hard to see but it's there, her bottom right. She so proudly shows it off. She is also sleeping through the night....Thanks to the help of creamed spinach. Her favorite baby food....She eats soo much she doesn't get hungry at 4am anymore. But I sure miss those feedings. I still wake up and just lay there wide awake.
Andrew is doing great, he's a big help around the house. Always willing to serve of a glass of water. Of course it's never in glass, just whatever he finds that if he pushes hard enough will make water flow from the fridge. He's also taught me the importance of the little lock button on the refrigerator for water and ice. Never knew why you would ever need that button. But thanks to Andrew I now know. Walking into the kitchen and almost breaking my neck because of the rivers he created has forced me to use that lock button. There were not only messes on the kitchen floor, but he would fill up truck beds, legos, anything and then walk them over to the living room and pour it on the floor, just for fun . He also got into bubble bath and poured that all over the bathroom floor. Do you know how hard it is to clean up bubble bath. Water just makes it worse. And you cant rinse out the rag because water makes more bubbles, so Y'all need to invent something that cleans up bubbles....I can see a huge market for it...at least in my house. Andrew has developed into a full blown 2year old boy, getting into everything and messes just seem to follow him around.

Any Takers!! Love their smiles!

17 August, 2006

Well its been another scorching week. Since August 1 every day has been 100+, which means the last 17 days have been pretty freakin hot. It sounds scary but I think my body is adjusting, I can tell the difference between 100 and 103, it actually feel A LOT cooler and let me tell you I love those 100 days...Its like winter.....Ok maybe not. I've just learned how to get all out door errands done before 10 am. And that's hard to do with little ones who don't wake until 8am, but we manage just fine. Andrew is my little master of the obvious...As soon as we step outside he says HOT!! Maybe he'll finally learn the word COLD by the time winter rolls around.
Kids have been doing great. Andrew is becoming more of the caring big brother, that he should be, just as long as Brianna stays away from his toys which includes every single thing in this house that's not tied down. He has a new found fashion sense. He like to wear my belts and my socks but has to be completely naked because I guess that's the only way they fit?? Or he's just needs a reason to tear off that diaper. I would publish pictures but don't want his cute little naked butt exposed on the worldd wide web, so you'll just have to take my word on it.

Brianna is growing soo fast.... She just turned 6 months and....Yes this is how she crawls...Looks more like an awkward monkey but she gets around. I'm guessing she likes to look at the world upside down and between her legs...I'm working on teaching her the "proper" way to crawl but she much prefers this method. Anyways she too stubborn to take advise from me. I wonder where she gets that from....Both my babies seem to have a strong dose of that gene.
Here is Brianna's 1/2 Birthday kiss from Yukon. He like them at this age. Its not until they get a little more mobile and heavy that he finds them soo annoying!
I attempted a little potty training on Andrew. I put "big boy" Nemo underwear on him and told him to tell me if he had to pee, well he peed in the living room not 2 minutes later. I put him on the toilet and explained to him that he needs to let me know before he pees. Well I figured he just peed so I can put another underwear on him and in 5 minutes we'll try the toilet, well on my way back from the laundry room he had already peed again. So we hung up the underwear for another day. He's laughing at me for falling for his little game twice in a row!!

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!

09 August, 2006

Where to begin...For starters we are all doing great, slowly adjusting to this Texan weather. To put it nicely it's been a little HOT!! We've had days where it doesn't go below 100. And in Texas everything has to be bigger so 100 everywhere else is really 110+ in TX. P-ville is growing FAST, there is a SUPER Wal Mart opening soon, so you can put us on the map, we have a walmart...yeah. If you are looking to buy, now is the time. Lots of construction everywhere we turn, we even have a lake now....The P-ville Lake. The house is coming along slowly, we were able to paint the living room and kitchen, thanks to the help of my dad. Makes the house look soo much more livable and cozy. Still lots I want to do, but only in time! We are always hiring free help so if your looking let us know, got lots to do!! We'll cover room and board...Well for at least a couple of days, but we'll let you play with our kids as compensation : )

Brent is doing great with his job, he loves what he does, meets a lot of choice people and spends long hours driving around most of Austin. He's been recognized as a very "valuable" employee by his boss and me.... I also love my job I spend long hours with two very cute and charming little ones and spend very little time outside, let alone driving anywhere.

We now spend a lot of time inside, where Andrew loves to use his "mounce" AKA our living room furniture AKA The Bouncer. He has finally learned to bounce alone no more just sitting there while I did all the bouncing. Although it was great exercise, Yukon hates it....Makes him a nervous wreck when we are all in there. He's probably more of the sensible adult than I am...And that's pretty scary!

Anyways...It's been a very trying week for me. Andrew and I have strep throat and Brianna has all the symptoms just not the actual virus Oh and she's teething. Soo each little one has a humidifier in their room and I sleep somewhere in between . Actually I don't sleep at all I just lay down for a few minutes, one crying usually wakes up the other. Can't wait for this to pass.
Andrew is doing great, among many other words he now knows 6 colors....Green, blue, white, purple, yellow and orange, and will recognize them everywhere we go. So now everything is a name and a color. Must be the Latin in him! The trash man is now....."Trash white", actually he's black but the truck is white and that's all that matters to Andrew. Or "big truck yellow" those are all the construction trucks. He's also mastering the art of torturing Brianna. She's been whacked with a hammer...A toy one of course....Had her face sat on, been colored with an orange marker, and she loves every minute of it, except for the hammer. She just smiles and pulls at him for more. She can now sit alone as long as Andrew isn't around, and is trying soo hard to crawl. She gets up on all fours, rocks and then falls flat on her face, but she's determined. She really teething and just dying to chew on anything she can. She still wont eat anything that's not in a bottle, but that's no hurry. I did find this mesh thingy that holds a frozen vegetable or fruit and she just sucks on it. It looks absolutely obscene and drives Brent crazy but she loves bananas.

Andrew is helping Brianna "nit"

Brianna finally sitting on her own!!

How can you say No to these faces!

Brianna's long awaited viejitas!!

Go Saprissa?!!

Poor Yukon! But he's a great babysitter.
